About Me and Stuff

About me: If I was to live only 54 years, I would currently be middle-aged. I have a husband and three cats. I work in a cubicle eight hours per day, but as evidenced by the fact that I am blogging while in said cubicle, my work is neither pressing nor fulfilling. I love to travel. Everywhere. I would rather eat spicy or salty food than sweet, but I hear that will change as I age. I would like it not to. I love the smell of laundry, but I don’t like doing it. Or any cleaning, for that matter. And I love a good book on a stormy afternoon followed promptly by a nap. I also love writing, and I dearly hope you enjoy what I do.

About this blog: I am a writer. I would prefer it if other people read what I write so that I may call myself an author, but until that time, I am satisfied being a writer. I started this blog because, as everyone knows, the first step to becoming a writer (and later, an author) is to write. But about what?

About chunks: I have found that Life happens in chunks. While it is true that I am unconsciously inhaling, exhaling, inhaling, exhaling and thus technically living (in that I am alive), true Life – joy, excitement, wonder, happiness, and truth – happens sporadically. My Life happens while I am not making a living. While I am not being practical. While I am present. And present happens, for me, in chunks. That is what I want to write about here. Those times in my life when I remember to look around, enjoy, and Live.
